Two 8ft stag-people fabricated from over 2500 steel patches, all hand shaped using hammer and anvil, welded together and encouraged to rust.

The intention when creating these pieces was to build something that reflected both the grace and power of a stag. The juxtaposition of the two ideas I was trying to convey, and the idea that the creature has the potential for both beauty and violence is something I feel can be found in both humankind, and nature in general. This thought is what inspired me to make the two human-animal hybrids as well as keep them relatively primal and connected to nature, while being constructed from an unforgiving man-made material.
